CUSTOMER STORIES
PIECES REMEMBERED.
EXPERIENCES CARRIED FORWARD.
Every piece begins with a gemstone. What follows is shaped through conversation, considered decisions and the trust placed in us along the way.
These are a few of the pieces our clients have chosen, worn and returned to remember.

A CLIENT JOURNEY
A FAVOURITE,
THEN THREE PIECES
The first piece began with a two-carat blue sapphire and a reference shared by the client. Sookjai retained the double-halo character she was drawn to, while refining the proportions into a more modern form in 9K white gold with lab-grown diamonds.
The finished ring became a favourite. She later returned for pink zircon earrings in white-plated silver, followed by champagne zircon earrings in yellow gold—three different pieces, connected by the confidence established through the first.

THE GEMSTONE, BEFORE

THE RING, FINISHED

THE JOURNEY, CONTINUED
CARRIED THROUGH
WHEN THE WORK NEEDED MORE
This silver signet ring began with a gemstone entrusted to us by the client. To keep the project within the intended budget, the piece was developed without CAD—but the form required more refinement than first anticipated.
The wax was remade three times. Each revision returned to the workshop queue, extending the original schedule. The revised timing was communicated as the work progressed, and Sookjai continued until the proportions and finish were ready to be accepted.

The delay was ours to communicate. The responsibility to complete the piece remained ours to carry.
“Thank you for resolving the problem.”

FINISHED TO FEEL LIKE THEIRS
A FINISH THAT CHANGED
THE FEELING
This small modern signet was created in silver with yellow-gold plating around a vivid green zircon. The design followed the client’s reference, but the first polished finish felt brighter than the character the client had in mind.
Before delivery, the surface was returned to the workshop and refined into a brushed finish—quieter, more tactile and closer to the way the client wanted the piece to feel.

FOUND AS A PAIR
MATCHED BEYOND
THE FIRST STONE
The request began with a pair of simple cushion-cut stud earrings inspired by a previous Sookjai piece. Finding one beautiful pink zircon was not enough—the colour, shape, proportions and character needed to work together as a pair.
After speaking with several suppliers, two closely matched stones were found and set in 9K gold, keeping the finished earrings as simple as the original intention.

THE RIGHT CHOICE
THE RIGHT STONE WAS NOT
THE ONE FIRST PLANNED
The private viewing began with a royal-blue sapphire in mind. On that overcast day, however, the sapphire appeared deeper and darker than the client had expected.
Among the additional gemstones prepared for comparison was an electric-blue zircon—a colour the client had never encountered before. Its more open, vivid blue felt immediately right, and it became the gemstone chosen that day.
The purpose of a viewing is not to confirm the first intention at any cost. It is to see clearly enough to recognise when another stone feels more appropriate.

DESIGNED WITH INTENTION
DESIGNED AROUND
THE STONE
This deep-blue zircon carried more depth beneath the surface than a conventional setting could comfortably disguise. A standard solitaire would have lifted the centre stone higher than the proportions of the ring called for.
Rather than forcing the gemstone into a familiar form, the design was built around its profile. Graduated white zircons were placed on either side, allowing the composition to descend gradually and making the centre feel intentionally elevated rather than unusually high.
The solution did not change the gemstone. It changed the way the piece carried it.

01
DEEP PAVILION
Considered within the setting profile.
02
GRADUATED SIDE STONES
Used to create a natural visual transition.
03
BALANCED HEIGHT
The centre remains prominent without feeling disconnected.
A constraint became the beginning of the design.

FROM THEIR EXPERIENCE

MADE TO BE LIVED WITH.
Each story is different. What remains consistent is the care taken to listen, respond and carry the work through.
